About Us

Here at Deerlands the nursery team is made up from a number of Senior Nursery Practitioners who hold a relevant level 3 or higher qualification and have over 4 or more years of experience working with young children, and Nursery Practitioners who hold a relevant level 2 or 3 qualification. We also have Nursery Assistants supporting our team, who are either training or have life experience of raising their own children.

All staff within the nursery are overseen by the owner and Early Years Professional - Heidi Cook.

We have a number of staff who have senior responsibilities in different areas such as:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinators (SENCO)
  • Safeguarding children co-ordinators
  • Health and Safety Officers
  • Equality and Diversity co-ordinators
  • Behaviour Management co-ordinators
  • Early Years Foundation Stage co-ordinators
  • Fire Safety Officers
  • Forest School Leaders Level 3
All staff have regular training through a continual professional development programme ensuring all staff are kept up to date with current legislation and best practise.

Outside Fun

We have plenty of outdoor activities for all the children to access regularly whilst at Deerlands.

We have 2 grass areas which both are enclosed and secured by fencing; a smaller area for our younger children that is divided into grass/astroturf and a larger area for our older children. Both of which have areas of permanent sunshade for the summer months.

In the garden the children can enjoy a variety of activities, we have sand pits, water trays, tunnels, tents and much more. We also have a paved playground area with bikes and trikes for all ages to enjoy, and a soft surface area with astroturf over the top which has a large wooden adventure-climbing frame and other climbing equipment.

Practitioners also enjoy, with parental consent, taking the children and babies, on educational /nature walks to experience the local village of North Fambridge.

Off road parking is provided in front of the nursery to allow the safe drop off and collection of your child.

The nursery operates a controlled entry system for all persons and visitors entering the nursery. Only parents and other authorised persons whom the nursery has full details of will be allowed to enter the nursery setting or indeed collect a child.
