Deerlands is within walking distance from the local train station, which provides a regular service to the surrounding area and is only 45 minutes from London Liverpool Street. By road Deerlands can be reached via the B1012 which is the main road from South –Woodham - Ferrers to Burnham – on – Crouch and easily accessible from Maldon, Danbury and surrounding villages within the Dengie Peninsula.
The nursery’s main operating hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm for 51 weeks of the year. The nursery does however offer a breakfast club from 7:30am, which is subject to availability and demand.
The nursery is closed weekends and bank holidays and the days between Christmas and the New Year.
The nursery offers a variety of flexible attendance patterns, from sessions to full days to meet parent’s individual requirements. Further details of times and sessions can be found on our ‘Fees and FAQ’ page.
The Nursery is divided into 5 rooms, in which small groups of children of a similar age and stage of development are based. Each room offers the children a wide variety of activities and experiences that a are designed to progress and develop every individual child further to achieve their full potential.
Off road parking is provided in front of the nursery to allow the safe drop off and collection of your child.
The nursery operates a controlled entry system for all persons and visitors entering the nursery. Only parents and other authorized persons whom the nursery has full details of will be allowed to enter the nursery setting or indeed collect a child.

At Deerlands Day Nursery we pride our self with having a dedicated nursery team whose aims are to meet your child’s every need, the children’s safety and well-being are paramount. We ensure a large percentage of our staff hold a recognised childcare qualification, and encourage practitioners to attend regular training to update and build upon their skills and knowledge.
The nursery team is made up from a number of Senior Nursery Practitioners, who hold a relevant level 3 or higher qualification and have had at least 2 years experience of working with young children, and Nursery Practitioners who hold a relevant level 2 or 3 qualification. We also have Nursery Assistants supporting our team, who are either training or have life experience of raising their own children.
The nursery practitioner’s complete regular assessments on the children and produce individual portfolios about each child’s experiences and development and endeavour to maintain a close partnership with parents and carers.
